adina123 Thanks for your reply and clarification about the stools. You've helped me to finalize the plans for my own kitchen. I'm attaching a layman's sketch of what I'm planning.
What are the dimensions of the table? - I'm thought of doing something similar in my new kitchen, which is still in the planning stage. This is the ONLY example I could find of what I have in mind. Thank you. Are there other examples available somewhere? I plan on fitting the table half way in under the kitchen island, leaving the other half out for daily use and to pull it completely out for other occasions. Hopefully I'll find an extendible table that will also accommodate the wheels or will have one custom made. »
Gardner Mohr Architects LLC This is a custom table, and is approximately 3' wide by 8' long. When tucked under the island, it protrudes approximately 12", a great dimension. You can see it tucked away in this photo, if you look very closely:
. The kitchen designer for this project has incorporated this idea into other projects -- Jennifer Gilmer Kitchen & Bath, www.gilmerkitchens.com/. It was fabricated for Jennifer, along with the rest of the cabinets, by the cabinet manufacturer, Premier Custom Custom-Built, Inc.
If I were a carpenter, a smaller version of this would slide out from cabinets under the kitchen window, and maybe, like here, there would be a row of drawers on top.
this gives me an idea of a dinning table thats folds away and the chairs resembles setees that have cushions on them and coild be used has regular sitting chairs
