Gardner Mohr Architects LLC Believe it or not, its a simulated veneer, Macassar ebony, if I remember correctly. It looks awesome in person.

Gardner Mohr Architects LLC This is a custom table, and is approximately 3' wide by 8' long. When tucked under the island, it protrudes approximately 12", a great dimension. You can see it tucked away in this photo, if you look very closely:
