Mark Dodge Design Thankyou, the overall width of the catwalk was 36 inches, cabinet depth of 12 inches leaving 24 inch clearance, tight but not for putting on a show. I didnt want the circular staircase eating up the living space.

Kind of like idea for Chap and Liz's room in remodel. Their current bedrooms would the 1st floor of their bedroom with ladder or stairs to their upstairs loft . Murphy beds would be incorporated into their 1st floor for guests.

I am an huge fan of circular staircases and humongous home libraries. This room uses both of those aspects beautifully! I love the fact that you can see the entire library from the ground level but you have to climb up the stairs to get to half of it.
