This carved piece stands out because of its materials and shape, but its slender proportions keep it from overwhelming the other furniture in the room.
Rule 3: All legs on the rug. One tip is to determine the furniture placement prior to selecting what size rug to use, which leads to the next rule: A room generally looks more pulled together if all the furniture legs are planted firmly on the rug.
Pairing a long, slender lamp with a short chunky one is a bold move. However, this is the type of visual tension that mixing and matching brings to a space, and I think that makes the entire room more intriguing.
Just the simple addition of the organic wood stool and the orange throw pillows makes this space feel soft and textured despite the otherwise modern, neutral palette.
If you have an unusual furnishing as an end table that won’t support a typical lamp, light your sofa in subtle yet chic style with a standing glass lamp. This versatile piece gets the job done while leaving your eyes focused on your sophisticated space.Eager to outfit your home with glass lamps? Check out these great possibilities.

perfectly balanced small living space, good lighting but not drawing too much attention to itself, excellent window treatments, perfect arrangement of sofa and armchairs, beautiful neutrals and accent colors. I could do worse than imitate this room.
