Oven placement - I love the way you placed the oven in the island. I would like to do the same with ours, but the owner's manual says it is not recommended. Are there any specific guidelines that need to be followed in order to place an oven in the island? I would appreciate any guidance you could offer.
The kitchen is beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing. »
Alicia Shearer, ASID, CID Have licensed electrican and contractor install the oven. Essentially the oven is being housed in cabinetry whether it is in an island or above counter height. Thank you for your comments.
Kitchen & Bath Concepts We would recommend using Silestone which is a quartz product. The two colors we use when people are looking for a "white marble look" are Lyra and Lagoon. Lyra has a more pronounced grey "vaining" in it, while the Lagoon is more subtle. Attached are the two colors, as well as, a photo of a kitchen we did with the Lagoon. Silestone has a 15 year warranty on their product and is scratch, stain, and scorch resistant. Very reliable and beautiful product. Hope this helps!
Would you share who custom made your cabinetry? - I realize you have some antique cabinets but I am mostly interested in the maker of the white cabinets.Would you share their name?
Thank you. Your kitchen is beautiful! »
Alicia Shearer, ASID, CID This chandelier is the Maria Theresa Bibi Continental style chandelier - long gone but "antiques" are available. Contact David @ Bibiantiques.com, 718 787 9007 He has the frame and can access others. He would be happy to help.
see library looking cabinets in kitchen could do this either side of fireplace and tv if built over each other ...do glass cabinets top for books and bottom for games, etc.
Ovens or other appliances in island? Refrigerator/freezer units? Also, along wall with shute (sp?), like idea of bookcase, but would want some doors......would probably put some pots/pans you don't really want to see.
