Knoll | Bertoia Bird Lounge Chair

Design by Harry Bertoia, 1952.
By Knoll. Harry Bertoia's 1952 Seating Collection includes the magnificent "Bird Chair". Born of an experiment with bending metal rods into art, the Chair is inventive and comfortable. Their appearance is delicate, yet these chairs are strong and durable. In Bertoia's own words, "If you look at these chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture. Space passes through them." The Bird Chair is offered with a full cover and glides. An element not-to-be-missed in virtually any environment, from home to workspace. The Bertoia Bird Chair is constructed with lasting techniques and materials. The frame is welded steel with rods polished in Chrome or bonded Rilsan, making it scratch, chip and chemical resistant. The Bird Chair features stainless steel connections and four plastic glides. Offered with a full cover in a variety of textiles. A coordinating Ottoman is also available.
