Luceplan | Metropoli D20/38 Indoor Light

Design by Alberto Meda, Riccardo Sarfatti and Paolo Rizzatto, 1992.
By Luceplan. Meda, Rizzatto and Sarfatti took a second look at ceiling lamps, as neglected as they are widespread, in search of an intelligent, elegant solution. Adopting a sober approach, they opted for a die-cast aluminum frame containing an easily assembled and inspectable diffuser. Modular, impermeable, designed to hold various light sources, the Metropoli system received the Compasso d'Oro award in 1994. Metropoli D20/38 for indoors features a die-cast aluminum lamp with a diffuser made of prismatic glass or opal polycarbonate (available only for fluorescent version), and provides a pleasant continuity of form between the interior and exterior of constructions.
