We found old house numbers...primed and painted them and hung on our staircase. We love it!

misty w Truthfully Melanie, I would go with the solid oak if I had it to do over again. If you get a deep enough scrape, you have a lighter color that shows thru. I use a stain pen and it covers easily, but the oak would be the same all the way thru, as opposed engineered, which is not real wood all the way thru. Hope that helps! I still love our floors!

misty w and bonjovina...we purchased from our local flooring store here in town. you can check out engineered hardwood at any flooring store!
