This ceiling is incredibly cool - I love how the skylight pops out of the darker wood. The overall effect is woodsy, but not musty.

9. Real. This trend is largely defined by it's opposite - faux. Designers are tired of seeing fake antlers everywhere, so they're craving a return to materials that are, well, real. Wood has a kind of authenticity that you can't deny - especially when it gets a little dinged up.
