Volz & Associates, Inc. While they weren't used for this project, we are big fans of milk paints. With appropriate expectations and application techniques, we seen some great results with them on other projects.
Much of the interior had only one coat of paint on it from 1857 until the 1970s. This bedroom still had the original paint, as well as scribbled notes from 1931 regarding the number of bales of cotton that year. The team flaked off the loose paint and then preserved what was left with conservator's coating, which adds a consistent and smooth layer that preserves the historic layer beneath it.
This room is SWEET to me because it reminds me of my grandparents' old farm house in the backwoods of Georgia, I have a lot of Fantastic as well as very meaningful memories that made my childood great !!!
