Believe it or not, there are ways to make an impact with magenta without scaring away your guests. If you're craving big and bright, go ahead and paint your walls magenta, but make sure the rest of the room is neutral (like the cream couch and dark ottoman) and complementary (like the green bookshelves) to avoid going over the top.
