I don't want butcher block counter tops because they look ugly once oils and food juices seep into the grain and I never feel I can clean all the foodstuffs out of the grain.

What do you think of keeping the granite we have and replacing the broken piece with mixed strips of hickory ( same wood as the cabinets ) and Brazilian camaru teak ( original flooring ).....or just the hickory or just the teak?
