Annie Thornton Handscraping is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. Texture is applied by hand to the length of the wood with a scraping tool. The result is a slightly undulating and uneven finish that looks aged and worn. The more expensive products are more authentic in appearance, while more affordable floors tend to be machine manufactured and look so.

MDI fabricates custom wood floor planks and the end products have a very authentic quality to them. I prefer using a fabricator like MDI so we can control the lenghths of the boards as well as the type of distressing and the finishes. MDI has been a very valuable resource for all my projects.
