Would like to know if that is cable running thru the wood. Also, who manufacturers this deck. I am looking for someone to do a deck for my homw but many don't do cable just aluminum rods. Can you help me? »
I LOVE the RAILINGS! What are they made of? Who makes them & where can I get them?
Of all the tricky colors out there, there's none so tricky as pink. While there's never any doubt that you're standing in a pink room, selecting a near-neutral pink can make accessorizing and furnishing a pink room an easier task.
Near-neutrals can make the color phobic a little more comfortable with color and they're a great way for anybody to add complementary color to a home.

Working with the existing landscape is important when building a deck - why build one if you're just going to clear the yard of anything cool? I love the way this deck is built around the cool, old tree. It feels like part of the house and part of the decor.
This shaded deck is cool for a lot of reasons - the tree is definitely one of them - and the railing complements the overall look. With a combination of wood to match the house and metal, the rail is unobtrusive and matches the woodsy modern look of the house.
Be prepared for chillier nights. You can get the same heat as this fancy outdoor fireplace from a fire pit or even a little chiminera (chiminea? What the heck are those things called?)
8. Stretch balcony season out with heat. While not everyone can have a fireplace like this one, even a simple heat lamp or fire pit can let you enjoy chilly nights outside - just make sure to put safety first.

I like this deck. I like the railing style. I am envisioning that this would be the deck that we would access from the upstairs. Outdoor fireplace is cool but probably not something we would ever use. -Amy
I actually love the idea of an outdoor fireplace or fire pit. I would use it. Not often, but I would use it. -Caroline
