We recently installed a complex hanging system to display 18 prints from Wayne Thiebaud's book of 'Delights' in a Pacific Heights powder room. Each eclair, cupcake and gateau slice was displayed on a stainless steel backing, and held behind optium plexiglass within a cable grid system. The result was a very clean and contemporary display of prints by this blue chip Bay Area artist.

is the stainless hanging system custom or can it be purchased somewhere? Love it! »
Design - Can you please email me the design of the cabling system? I have an architect and framer in town that can custom create this with a little help from you regarding the technical specifics. Thank you!! Madelyn.montague@gmail.com »
Style Secret: Edgy ArtWould it feel awkward in a traditional home or a sweet, feminine cottage? Then it'll probably be the life of the party in an industrial space. Old road signs, giant abstract works, mixed-media sculptures — risk taking gives this style its swagger. Found objects, such as pulley wheels and giant faucet handles, can be mounted on the walls or massed on shelving for a powerful graphic punch.Smart strategy: When in doubt, you cannot go wrong with black and white photos. Keep mats wide and frames ultrasimple. The grid on this wall, bound by a custom rail-style treatment, is stunning because of its spareness.
Common groundBeth and Kristy: We both agree that this hanging system is incredible. We are huge fans of groupings that take up almost an entire wall. For a similar effect with a personal touch, we love walls of black and white family photos. They're artistic, inexpensive and serve as a reminder of your happiest times whenever you walk by!Tell us: Are you more like Kristy, a fan of modern pieces or are you in Beth's camp and like things more traditional?
