In the design stages many details were incorporated in this classic kitchen to give it dimension since the surround cabinets, counters and backsplash were white. Polished nickel plumbing, hardware and custom grilles on feature cabinets along with the island pendants add shine, while finer details such as inset doors, furniture kicks on non-working areas and lofty crown details add a layering effect in the millwork. Surround counters as well as 3" x 6" backsplash tile are Calacutta Gold stone, while island counter surface is walnut. Conveniences include a 60" Wolf range, a 36" Subzero refrigerator and freezer and two farmhouse sinks by Kallista. The kitchen also boasts two dishwashers (one in the island and one to the right of the sink cabinet under the window) and a coffee bar area with a built-in Miele. Photo by Pete Maric.

House of L Interior Design The floors were custom stained on site, however a walnut-type stain in pre-fabbed floors similar to this would be available or a finisher should be able to match something closely depending on the application you are using for your home.

House of L Interior Design No problem! The island is 10'7"L x 5'7" W x 36"H. The cabinet maker supplied the crown molding on the job and painted it simultaneously to finishing the cabinets so that the sheen and color was an exact match. The crown is also in two tiers so its almost a "double crown". Let me know if I can help in any other way!

walshdm Sorry -- I should have mentioned I have a Sub zero BI-36U/O-LH 36" Bttm. Freezer Overlay model. I am hearing this needs more depth in the flush inset implementation.

House of L Interior Design The base cabinets come out 24" (25 1/4" with stone overhang) and are flush with the fridge. The upper cabinets are 12" deep and that is why they recess back. These depths are very typical on lower and upper cabinet depths. Thanks and I hope this helps!

Living Right Barstools close to this can be found on Target Online for $169.,each 46 people 5 star rated them!

Living Right This picture is not my design. Go back to where you first found the picture and that should tell you who did that particular kitchen. The can tell you where they got the bar stools.
In my design, the bar stools came unbelievably from Target Online. 46 reviews gave the 4-5 stars and they were $169.00 for counter stools and $179.00 for the higher bar stool. They are even more beautiful in real life!

House of L Interior Design It is definitely not a stark white but is soft without losing its crispness. I think if you are looking to do a white kitchen, you should avoid whites that have yellow or red undertones to keep it feeling fresh.

I am presuming that your cabinets on your island are 36"H from floor to the top of the counter. That being said you will probably want your lights to stay between 18"-20"H max. How long is the secondary and smaller part of the L and how deep is your island overall? If you could better describe how the "L" is used that would help me get a better visual of the space so I can assist further. Thanks and look forward to hearing back!

House of L Interior Design Thank you so much for the nice compliment. The hardware for this kitchen were from Atlas hardware from their Sutton Collection 292-PN for the knobs and 291-PN for the 4" pulls. For your backsplash, that might be a tricky size for you to find. It might be easier to do 3" x 6" and then allow for a cut to happen closer to the underside of the cabinet which wouldn't be visible. In terms of color if you are looking for some pale green ceramic tiles, I would try Ann Sacks, Walker Zanger, Sonoma Tilemakers or Pratt and Larsen. All of these lines specialize in hand crafted tiles with beautiful color ranges from neutrals to deeper tones and might be the right fit for your project. I hope this helps!

House of L Interior Design Hi Sue. Thank you so much for your compliment, it is so appreciated! I think that at 3' wide you should try and keep your pendant diameter no bigger than 16-18" otherwise they would overwhelm the space. Additionally, two should be ample to make a strong statement; I think three would look cluttered and take away from the feel overall. These particular lights are 24" in diameter by 21"H so another thing you need to consider with your selection is your ceiling height; these are shown in a 9' ceiling. House of L Interior Design Hi and thanks for your question! There is a granite that closely resembles marble and it is called Donna Sandra. I have found that this is the closest match to a Carrera-type marble. In terms of a stone looking like wood there are some travertines that have a grain that resemebles wood grain but it would not be ideal for a counter top. If you want a darker brown surface, a rich chocolate marble like Emperador Dark would give you the contrast you are looking for and is a great cool surface for baking and pastry-type work. House of L Interior Design The pulls on island are 6" and the perimeter kitchen drawers are 4"; they are from Atlas Hardware's Sutton Collection Style 291 in polished nickel finish; the knobs are also from Atlas Hardware's Sutton Collection, Style 292 in polished nickel finish. I hope this helps!

House of L Interior Design Hello! The floor is white oak stained in a walnut hue. The island top is walnut and there is really only a clear coat on it to enhance the wood's naturally deep and rich tones. The cabinets are painted in Farrow and Ball Pointing 2003. House of L Interior Design Hello. The backsplash is Calacutta Gold marble in 3" x 6" pieces. The area behind the range consists of a Calacutta Gold basketweave pattern with a 1/2" bullnose frame around it and measures 18"H x 48"W (the range is a 60" Wolf). The remaining area surrounding the picture frame is filled in with the 3" x 6" tiles to compliment the other backsplash elevations. This is the kitchen. The stools would have to be backless and store under the countertop. The refrigerator would be built in with dk wood to match island countertop.

In the design stages many details were incorporated in this classic kitchen to give it dimension since the surround cabinets, counters and backsplash were white. Polished nickel plumbing, hardware and custom grilles on feature cabinets along with the island pendants add shine, while finer details such as inset doors, furniture kicks on non-working areas and lofty crown details add a layering effect in the millwork. Surround counters as well as 3" x 6" backsplash tile are Calacutta Gold stone, ...
