In the design stages many details were incorporated in this classic kitchen to give it dimension since the surround cabinets, counters and backsplash were white. Polished nickel plumbing, hardware and custom grilles on feature cabinets along with the island pendants add shine, while finer details such as inset doors, furniture kicks on non-working areas and lofty crown details add a layering effect in the millwork. What is the width here between island and range? »
Sinks - Just love the sinks...are they a cream colored porcelain or white? Are they custom or from a local type store? Are the wooden counters super expensive or comparable to granite prices. My kitchen is gutted now and building is in progress so I need to decide on stuff quickly!
Thanks

House of L Interior Design Hi Linda! I hear the urgency in your questions. The sinks shown here are white but are available in a bisque as well which is a soft off-white. These are from the Michael Smith Collection for Kallista. The wood counters are comparable to a more expensive granite price tier. I hope this helps!!! Good luck with your renovation!
House of L Interior Design Thank you so much!! This kitchen's custom cabinets are painted in Farrow and Ball Pointing 2003. I hope this helps with your project!
House of L Interior Design This was a custom designed and built kitchen so there is not a brand I can give you or style. However, the paint we used was from Farrow and Ball and is color Pointing 2003. It is a beautiful soft white. I hope this helps with your kitchen project!
House of L Interior Design The overall height of this kitchen is 9'. The lower cabinets are 36" off of the floor, there is 18" from the top of the counter to the bottom of the upper cabinets leaving 54" of cabinet and crown. I hope this helps!
Futuro Futuro Kitchen Range Hoods There are several manufacturers that offer this type of "built-in" range hood module, usually called an "insert" or "insert-liner".
House of L Interior Design Hello. The counters and backsplash are both Calacutta Gold marble. The backsplash is cut in 3" x 6" tiles overall and the area behind the range is a basket weave pattern. Thank you!
House of L Interior Design Red oak would stain equally as well in a darker tone. If your floors are existing in the home (which they seem to be) then your refinisher should be able to do a few color samples on the floor for you once they are sanded down. Upon your approval, he will sand all of the variations out and then proceed with your final pick. This way you are able to see the shades that are close to what you are looking for and get the perfect match. Good luck with your project!
House of L Interior Design The backsplash is 3" x 6" Calcutta Gold tile and the picture framed area behind the range is a Calacutta Gold basket weave pattern. Thanks for your inquiry!
House of L Interior Design The hardware for this kitchen were from Atlas hardware from their Sutton Collection 292-PN for the knobs and 291-PN for the 4" pulls.
houssaon I love wood for kitchen floors. They are easier on the feet and can be damp moped. Of course, you don't want to let water stand on the floor or water potted plants on them. I also like the continuity that comes from having the wood floor flow from room to room.
House of L Interior Design Wood is a very comfortable surface to stand on for longer periods of time, making it an ideal floor for kitchens. Hardwood floors are generally easy to maintain and clean up with very little product. Another benefit is that they don't pose the same risks a stone floor does, where etching is inevitable and can occur easily if something acidic touches it. If you do go with hardwood flooring, a more important consideration would be the species of wood you use, as some woods tend to be softer than others. Also the stain of the wood is a factor that you should address as well, as darker colors show more than a more mid-tone color would. A hand-scraped hickory floor, with its naturally inherent knots and heavier grain "camouflages" wear and tear more effortlessly than a a much lighter and softer maple floor, which has hardly any visible grain. Assessing the design aesthetic you are going for, along with your lifestyle and family nucleus will help you also decide how practical hardwood would be for you and which wood species would be your best match.
Wall color - Love everything about this space. What color wall paint would you suggest to pull the coolness of cabinets and and dark floor together? White? »
"Traditional," "classic" and "quietly luxurious" would be good descriptors to keep in mind when designing your plantation kitchen. A great big range and plenty of cupboard space provide room for party prep. Marble counters are a worthy splurge, especially if you bake a lot, as they are ideal for rolling out dough.
