In the design stages many details were incorporated in this classic kitchen to give it dimension since the surround cabinets, counters and backsplash were white. Polished nickel plumbing, hardware and custom grilles on feature cabinets along with the island pendants add shine, while finer details such as inset doors, furniture kicks on non-working areas and lofty crown details add a layering effect in the millwork. brand and metal for pulls+handles on cabinets - Hi there, are the pulls on the drawers+cabinets polished nickel too? Do you know if they'll tarnish easily with all the daily use? This kitchen is gorgeous, great job!! »
House of L Interior Design Hi! These are in polished nickel and the homeowner has never had any tarnishing issues with the hardware or plumbing fixtures. I hope this helps!
love the sink jewelry! what is the filter fixture? - I believe the main sink fixture is Perrin and Rowe, but what is the water filter faucet exactly? Is it Waterstone or Newport Brass? Does it have both filtered water and insta-hot? »
House of L Interior Design Hi! It is actually from Waterstone. See the image I have attached. This particular model features an insta-hot as well as the filtered water option so it makes it very functional. The attachment is shown in the oil rubbed bronze finish, but in the kitchen image you are inquiring about it is shown in polished nickel. Hope this helps! Best!
House of L Interior Design Of course and I can appreciate you identifying that. I will make sure to use the correct spelling to help with any further misconceptions about the origins of this stone, which originates in Italy, not India. Thanks again for the clarification!
HomeBunch According to the designer, the sink is manufactured by Kallista and is from their Michael S. Smith "Loft" Collection. It measures 40"L x 19.5"W x 11"H x 9.5D and is available in either a stucco white (shown) or linen color ways. The model number is the L20301.00. House of L Interior Design The cabinets were custom built by a local fabricator. The color we used was from Farrow and Ball "Pointing 2003". I hope this helps with your kitchen!
House of L Interior Design Hi. Yes, all of the outlets and switches are under the cabinets which eliminates the unsightliness of having outlets marring the splash and deterring from it, creating a cleaner look overall. Implementation just requires planning ahead of time so that your cabinet maker as well as your electrician can make the necessary accommodations. Thanks for your question!
House of L Interior Design Polished anything will get water spots but they are so simple to wipe out with a soft cloth. Did she indicate why she was so concerned? Polished chrome is a much cooler finish then the polished nickel. I use nickel quite a bit and I've never had anyone complain! I hope that helps you to make a decision. Good luck!
rosebud10 Thank you so much for your comments!! I just sent you a note via email because I was not sure if you would see the post. Retailers are telling us that they it is a "living" finish that changes over time ! Not necessarily in a good way. How often do you need to polish the nickel or do you ?
