Lands End Development - Designers & Builders Hello and thanks for looking! The siding is called a timber plank, basically large hand hewn timber planks to replicate the look of an old log lodge. We used Sikkens Dark Oak exterior finish. I hope that helps!!
Lands End Development - Designers & Builders Hello again!! This will be a question you will want to ask the structural engineer from the truss company that the roof trusses were purchased from. Thanks for looking and good luck!
Lands End Development - Designers & Builders Hello; the upper level of this garage was unfinished and used for storage. Potentially it could be finished off into a living area some day.
What is the floor plan of the second floor? - I am looking at dimensions of the entire garage and the sq ft of the second floor and purpose. Fantastic Design.....do believe that I found my dream garage! »
Lands End Development - Designers & Builders Hmm, that's an interesting question.... I don't think the size would really matter as it relates to the architectural style, I guess I would say certainly your architect or designer should be able to accomplish this look/feel on any size structure with regards to the exterior selections; the trick for any structure is making it aesthetically appealing to you which has less to do with size and more to do with the design. Thanks for looking!!
EXTERIOR - What is the ground level exterior material? I see the cedar shingles on the second floor, as well as the stone columns, but I just cannot make out the other material used. This looks lovely. »
Lands End Development - Designers & Builders Well, well, well, another very good question!! That siding is a custom plank timber siding made to appear like a vintage square log home in the mountains. The look we were after was to emulate a hachet hewn timber structure. In this case, it is new material made to look old. It is in random widths of 8", 10", and 12". It is a full 2" thick. Hope that helps!
5. Cabin-style Minnesota carriage house. This heavenly winter home is actually a spacious carriage house, constructed in a rustic log-cabin style. Houzzers loved every little detail of this space — including the red trim, exposed stone and shingled dormer.
Great garage but should be a 4 stall. It needs to connect to the main house by at least a covered walkway that is well lit, of the same design, and that has a heated sidewalk for winter. Upstairs would make a good office or guest apartment. Needs a balcony in either the front or back.
