Cynthia Taylor-Luce Ikea sells floating shelves. Make sure you don't load them with more weight than they rate on the package--they aren't as strong as they may appear. I tried these once for bookshelves in my daughter's room at university, but she ended up putting only decorative items on them once we realized that books would be too much for them to handle.

Jessica Young Sinks in the laundry room are very common and quite useful. I, personally, wouldn't want to live in a house without one.

CDH Designs Several people have asked this.. Judging by cabinets, I'd say the width of the room is about 7-1/2' (90"). The length would have to be at least 11-1/2,' but I'm guessing it's about 12' (144").
