More unexpected color. While the major surfaces remain neutral and timeless, color is introduced through elements that can more easily be changed. Here yellow is brought in with paint, a trim detail on the roman shade and in the print used on pillows.
I've been using lots of yellow and bluish gray in projects recently because I like how they contrast each other without appearing too busy or overdone. There's a nice crispness to the combination, especially when a little white is added to the mix.
Pale gray cabinets work with the pale yellow wall to make a lovely color scheme fit for starting out the morning routine. The soft pastel colors aren't too hard on groggy eyes either. Bold pillow patterns on the storage bench bring out the rest of the bathroom's features, such as the uniquely-shaped window.
