Hawaii is the ideal place to create outdoor rooms (of course, they do have to be able to handle a daily rain shower). While this space isn't technically outside, it's got the right spirit. The open wall is just amazing.

Any pool at all is a good way to feel like you're on vacation. You don't need anything fancy. A simple rectangular pool will do. Of course, if you can add some palm trees to the yard then it would really feel like Hawaii but that's just a bonus.

The ohia post might be made of cement... , but I like them. Very big, strong, etc. These are not the weak or skinny ohia post most use. I like the bigger and better kind.

Love that when the weather allows you just open the wall and the room becomes a covered outdoor room, and when the weather isn't so nice you just close up the doors and watch it from inside. On my dream house plan, I'd probably make one like it on the other side that was a screened porch.
