Steinbiss construction company I just completed a master bedroom vaulted ceiling after my customer sent me this pic, I ended up using a 1x6 pine tongue and groove board and used the flat side versus the beaded side and everyone from my customer to the designers and various contractors on the project comment on how beautiful it makes the room. Btw, we painted the ceiling rather than stain.

Oooh, I just did this too! Beadboard and 1x3 is an amazing way to give contractor-grade tubs a built-in, designer look. The big trick here is making sure you seal, seal, seal. This ensures no water leaking which can lead to rot. Paint the back and the front of the beadboard with semi-gloss paint, then add a bead of silicone along the edges of the trim.
