TreHus worked from photographs of this home dating back to the early 1900's and with the Minneapolis Historic Preservation Commission to ensure that we honored the home's spirit and heritage throughout the project. Old-world craftsmanship and materials such as the tongue-and- groove boards, beadboard accents on the cabinetry, subway tile, carerra marble, and wide plank pine flooring authentically bring back this home's former glory. What color and brand of paint was used for the buffet? It is a great color! »
Hi. You mentioned that the floors are pine. Can you tell me what stain was used? - We are about to install #2 pine floors. This color is perfect. I dont see any yellow/orange that comes through a lot of times. Thanks for your help. »
TreHus Architects+Interior Designers+Builders I wish I could, but we used a custom mix since part of the first floor had existing maple floors - in order to make the pine and maple matched, we had to stain one, wait for it to dry, then make a custom mix for the other to make sure the color looked exactly the same.
TreHus Architects+Interior Designers+Builders It's a wide plank pine floor. There was some wide plank pine flooring in the existing space, so we decided to put it in throughout the first floor.
TreHus Architects+Interior Designers+Builders I hate to say it, but I don't actually know where the bar stools came from. When these photos were taken, parts of the home were still being renovated and the owner had not moved a lot of his things in. So the kitchen was staged specifically for these photos by a stylist - we discussed the accent colors and styles, but I do not know exactly where each piece came from.
TreHus Architects+Interior Designers+Builders The island, buffet and the rest of the cabinetry were custom made by Eull Woodworks in St. Michael, MN. Most reputable custom cabinet makers should be able to make something similar. Their website is http://www.eullwoodworks.com/
TreHus Architects+Interior Designers+Builders I contacted the stylist to see if he could tell me where they are from. I'll keep hounding him and let you know if I hear anything.
What are the size of your turned legs? - Looking at similar legs for a client's island and Like the proportion of yours! :-) Can you tell me the size (width)- Thanks- dg »
Accent chairs: Painted furniture is a chic way to add an accent color. For the full effect, add accessories in the same shade. This creates harmony in the space.
