What are the dimensions of this kitchen? How much walk space between the two islands? - I am trying to decide if I have enough room for multi work spaces and seating like this. Is the seating out in an open space? ( like leading to the great room, or in view from the foyer? I just notice the seating comes out further than the wall on the right of the picture. Wish I could see the seating area from a different angle. Are there more pictures I can access? »
hbhwatkins Well what I am trying to decide is if I have room for two islands (One with seating such as this) and the layout is similar and my foyer is right in front of where the butlers pantry is in this picture. Actually my entry coat closet is where the butlers pantry is. The view right in front of the range hood is my stairs and half bath under the stairs. I am assuming that you see the chairs when you enter the foyer. Correct? My room is 17 X17 do you think I have enough room? It wouldn't have to be as long as this bar, I only need four chairs or stools.
Palmer Todd The only information that I have is that it is a Chicago brick. We did not supply that material, so I don't have any more detailed information than that. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Palmer Todd The scales and fruit bowl were supplied by the interior designer we were working with on this job. I believe they were found at an antique store, but I am not sure where. Sorry I don't have more information for you.
Palmer Todd I am sorry, the interior door stain was selected by the builder and I do not have that information. The cabinet doors are an alder wood with a custom glaze made by our cabinet manufacturer Downsview. Unfortunately it does not have a name...it is just a technique three finish.
Thank you for your inquiry. We hope that you like it. The material was designed and ordered through Palmer Todd. It is a combination of tile vendors and is handmade ceramic tile.
Palmer Todd Thank you for your inquiry!
The center island is a limestone material called Miner Stone and the raised bar top is a reclaimed wood top that was re-finished to be suitable for a countertop surface.
How long is this island? I am trying to fit 5 bar stools in our new home as well and wondering how long the island would have to be to accomodate them. »
There are so many newfangled weighing scales on the market and, for practical purposes, they're great. But for a traditional kitchen, try to get your hands on a beautiful antique set — it looks amazing, and you can always use it to display fruit or brightly wrapped sweets if you don't want to use it for weighing. Go large for a real statement.
Double island, interesting mix of materials, second island has both higher level counter for eating and lower counter for serving. Fills up a large space and makes it all functional.
