Curved bullnose - Where did you get the curved bullnose for the 2nd floor door opening, and did you build the curve to fit the bullnose and rail or build the rail and bull nose to fit the curve? »
Fireplace floor plans, want to build fireplace like this in our home. - How do I get the plans for this fireplace?
I would need to modify it some, but for sure love the multi levels, the lighting, and the double mantel look.
What are the sizes of the mantels?
Thanks. »
Schnarr Craftsmen Inc This was a custom design from the fireplace installer. Unfortunately I don't have any dimensions available. I would suggest bringing a sketch to a few different fireplace companies and have them design and price something for you to have some comparison.
Why did you do a high contrast color for the mantels. I like the consept but feel a medium gray wood do bette - I could have fun with the concept and create steps and platform for the cats to play and rest on. »
Schnarr Craftsmen Inc The custom mantle, stonework and shelving was designed by our client and our fireplace installer. I can't speak for either of them, but in my opinion the colours coincide well with the black balcony spindles, door hardware and grilles, and other black furnishings within the space.
Schnarr Craftsmen Inc There's a lot of factors to consider. That area was part of a whole-home renovation and originally had a floor through that open area which we removed up to the second storey, requiring substantial structural improvements. It would depend on location of the project, is it new construction or renovation, etc etc
Schnarr Craftsmen Inc The height of the stonework is 17'-0" to the underside of the flat ceiling section, and then it arches up into a barrel vault that is approximately 19'-0" from the floor. The corresponding photo shows the opposite view, towards the exterior wall.
Schnarr Craftsmen Inc This is a private residence that has three stages of additions over its 50 year life. Unfortunately floor plans are not available.
jmcaleese It's a Quadra-Fire 7100. We're considering this model for our new home. I would like to suggest that you look into a Fireplace Extraordinaire FPX-44.
Hockey pucks. The flat, round shape of these lights gave them their name. These small lights give a direct point of light that works great in small spaces. Here they cast small scallops of light against the stone fascia. Design tip: This standard light fixture is available in almost every finish and material to fit your design.
~~~~~fireplace room. tan furniture, brick fireplace w/black trim. paint built in black, this color wals (brownish/greenish/grey tint) w/white trim, white carpet
like black screen on f/p. Like the black mantle contrasting against the light brick. Like wall color down stairs. LOVE the lights mouted under the mantle.
