kimberly1290 My cabinets are done this color - It is Sherwin Williams Alabaster paint and the glaze is Van Dyke Brown. It is beautiful. Hope this helps.
In Detail Interiors No. Sorry cannot. I would have to go back and get the file and if I did that for every question I get, would have no time to actually work and make a living!:) I am happy to answer questions that are in my head but not specifics. Also we are under contract with a client and they pay us design fees and often request that we do not divulge specific information. I am sorry cannot help.
Every idea in this kitchen is just brilliant. I have been thinking about using a granite called White Springs that looks similar to this. I think your choice of colors are perfect. Could you please tell me the color of the cabinets and the island. Thanks so much. »
In Detail Interiors thank you for the kind words. The island is a custom stained made by me:) and the countertop is called Delicatus. White springs is not as busy usually. I had white springs in my own house a long time ago. The paint is a SW called ecru. It has a slight custom glaze. We offer E Design if you are interested in getting help pulling it all together! HI Cheryl,
What material is on the surface of the hood? Did you have this custom made or can it be purchased?
Very pretty and creative kitchen! - warm and magical use of materials! »
Cheryl Kees Clendenon Hi! thanks for the kind words. I did have the hood custom made from a metal fabrication shop. I cannot remember the exact metal they used but is a non rusting type.
Is the storage at the end of the bar a separate piece or attached? - Can you give me information about the piece on the end of the bar? Is it attached or a separate piece? I am looking for something similar for my kitchen (separate with drawers). »
A ceiling-mounted range hood can present a lighting dilemma, but the matching amber crystal chandeliers used here disguise that dilemma effortlessly.
Tip: Chandeliers generally hang 28 to 30 inches above the surface they're illuminating. In a kitchen, it's often a better idea to go higher than 30 inches so the chandelier isn't an obstacle.
A handy trick to figure out the perfect hight before committing to anything is to take an open umbrella, turn it upside down and use it as a lightweight stand-in for your chandelier as you experiment with heights. It'll be a lot easier if you have someone to help you.
No matter what you choose for the rest of the home, it's so important for the kitchen to feel relaxed and inviting; it is the heart of the home, after all. Even in a more upscale design scheme, distressed cabinets lend a casual air that can't help but be welcoming.
This island set up works. It needs a prep sink added and more depth on the raised counter. The counter at the end of the island really finishes it nice. I wish I could see the other end. A small open bookcase would look great.
