Dzignit, Patrice Greene My apologies for not getting back to you sooner - I am crazy busy! :) The closest one I can see would be Sesame but the best way to get the best answer would be to contact them (Fireclay Tile, San Jose, CA) I would send them this photo and ask for their expertise. They are most helpful :)
Depth of Granite For Bar Stools - Hi, I'm just about to finish designing my kitchen and I want to do an overlay like you did for the two chairs. How far did you come out and what type of cut did you use? Is it a half moon? »
Dzignit, Patrice Greene Hello Anthony, This overhang is a arch. It starts approximately 7" at the sides and arc's out to about 15". There are steel flat bars embedded in the underlayment of plywood that support the overhang and the underside of the overhang is finished to match the cabinets. Hope this helps :) Patrice
Where is the refrigerator located? - I have a very similar 70s style FR dilemma, small, closed off from kitchen, while the kitchen is very small and not truly functional at all. I'm planning on taking the wall between the two rooms down and possibly the wall between the kitchen and living room. »
deborahbcw I love this kitchen..My kitchen is open to the family room. At the end of the room is a light grey stone fireplace surrounded with white bookshelves. Do you think a white kitchen would balance this open space or be too white ?
Dzignit, Patrice Greene If you prefer a 'white' kitchen I would most likely suggest a 'white' that would pick up some of the grey in the stone from the fireplace. This kitchen, even though it looks white, has an apricot 'glazing' over a cream white paint on the cabinets. The glazing picks up the glazing color in the tile. The stone is a soft green granite, more granulated than marble in movement. Hope this helps.
Patrice
Dzignit, Patrice Greene I typically try to tie in the back-splash field tile with the cabinet tone and then accent it with something that will pick up the granite color/tone. Glass works well for the accent. It all depends on your personal taste and what you feel you want to live with for the long term
Dzignit, Patrice Greene These pendants are: Access: #28206 Sydney Tsuki Glass Pendant (now showing with ribbed glass) another to look at: Tech Lighting, Sanibel (white) with a 4" 'freejack' round flush canapy in satin nickel. These are low voltage halogen pendants. Both Access and Tech have some great choices in their updated pendants. Good luck :) Patrice Greene, DzignIT
Dzignit, Patrice Greene Just found this question, my apologies :( The granite is Verde Esmarelda but different suppliers call their granite's different names.
Dzignit, Patrice Greene Hello, These cabinets were finished on site with a custom glaze over white paint to match the back splash tile. I am sorry I can not give you a specific paint on this. A good finisher can make samples for you based on any finish you give them to match a color you want to bring into the space. I hope this helps :)
Backsplash - Can you please tell me what the back splash is? It looks like it has some texture. Is it a stone or marble? I really like it. Thank you! »
Dzignit, Patrice Greene Yes, this is a Fireclay Tile, as noted above. The cabinets have a custom glaze over cream color paint to pick up the 'almond' tone of the tile which has almost an apricot hue. Their link is above. Patrice
Dzignit, Patrice Greene Hello, the appliance is a warming drawer, fortunately now they are making them a bit more discreet and often combined in the range unit :)
Dzignit, Patrice Greene Just found this question, my apologies :( The tile is from Fireclay Tile: http://www.fireclaytile.com/. The granite is Verde esmarelda
Hi - Can you tell me about the tile backsplash? My wife and I really like it and are looking for something like this to go in our kitchen. If you could tell me the name, color, manufacturer or just point to a web link that would be awesome! Thanks. »
Dzignit, Patrice Greene Just found this question from you, my apologies :( The subway tile is made by Fireclay Tile in San Jose. Here is their link: http://www.fireclaytile.com/
tracygradolph Can't wait to see. My set up looks similar---small FR 11x13---with stub wall open to diningroom and hallway. Trying to figure out what to do? I don't know if I should close up the stub wall and put the Flat screen on the wall and set the couch and love facing the stub wall. Pics on my page.
Dzignit, Patrice Greene Hi Tracy, Looked at your page but not sure what I am looking for. If you are interested, you can fax your existing plan (408)973-0218 and/or email me: patrice@dzignit.com. I may be able to do a quick sketch for you - 1 hr free :). You are welcome to look at my website to see how I work: www.dzignit.com.
Tip: Find forgotten space
Any other forgotten areas of your kitchen, besides the corners? Make 'em earn their keep by squeaking out some storage space. Here, a warming drawer finds a spot on the side of this island.

Like the idea of the shelving at the end of the counter. Could I design something for the end of the counter facing the hallway by the stairwell?
