Erin Fearins Hello soophstikat,
The ceiling is an original pressed tin ceiling that is a fairly common detail found in many Brooklyn brownstones and townhouses. We painted the ceiling a very pale blue in this case.
Thanks!
Erin Fearins Hello tomaztacla,
The painting was obtained at an estate auction. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any information on the artist when it was purchased for the client.
Thank you!
Annie Thornton The interior designer, Erin Fearins, let one of our contributers know that the wall paint color in this parlor is Benjamin Moore's Coventry Gray HC-169.
The fireplaces and mantles are original to the house. "We wanted to mix modern elements with the more traditional detailing in the room," Erin says. "One of these elements is the Bubbles Glass Chandelier by Solaria Home. The natural bamboo mirror is from Hickory Chair. The cerused oak console is from Global Views and the lamps are from
Bungalow 5. The oil painting was obtained at auction.
There is so much to love about this room: the mixing of metallic finishes, a simple table paired with Klismos-inspired chairs, a traditional sideboard topped with gorgeous green lamps, and the sparkly chandelier overhead. But my eye keeps sneaking back to the abstract painting, which gives the room a contemporary flair.
Measure table-to-furniture clearance. If there is furniture in the dining space, begin your 42-48" measurement from the edge of the furniture instead of the wall.
Like this acid green Mark Rothko format with the blue. Love the Greek Key cabinet and chandelier. I may use this chandelier for my bedroom....to add a little modern Bling.
