Is the mantle antiqued or dry brushed? - I am looking to buy a home that has an awful paint job for the mantle and carving. I really like the way this blends with the walls and has interest (not talking about smoke/heat marks near mouth of fireplace). Was wondering about the detail. »
CWB Architects The mantle here is the original marble mantle from the house. It was actually painted when the client's purchased the house but we sent it out to be stripped back to it's original condition which is what you see here. The wall color is a soft gray so it does blend pretty well with the natural marble fireplace surround.
May I please use this photo in a blog post? - I'd give you photo credit and include a link back to this page (or any other page you'd prefer I link to instead) »
Erin Fearins Hello jlarch,
Yes, just wanted to confirm that the fabric on these chairs is from Duralee. It is a cotton print. The chairs are vintage.
Thanks!
Erin
gaymedel Thank you Erin for the feedback.. The room is just beautiful. Also, did you use anyother grays in the project? I am looking for a silvery gray, medium not too light, not too dark and not a blueish gray. Any suggestions are appreciated. I have been trying without success to find one.
Thanks again !
Erin Fearins Hellow vivcheung13,
This table was procured from Oly Studio. Their website shows several locations in Canada where their items can be purchased.
Thanks!
"We love to find unique pieces for our clients that can be mixed with things they already own," says interior designer Erin Fearins. This includes sourcing things from all over. "There are great local stores such as antique stores and fabricators where we have things custom made or refurbished."
I just love gray; can't get enough of it. With the complementary colors of the orange flowers against the blue chairs this room looks like a colorful room. It's all about accents.
A bamboo mirror takes on a contemporary look in this sophisticated parlor. While it takes a backseat to the limestone mantel, its clean lines and neutral color allow it to still hold a prominent position in the room.
Beth's choice 2: Natural specimens B: I'm a big fan of art that brings the outdoors in. Coral is beautiful in any room, especially in a coastal home. Kristy and I both love shadow boxes with interesting things inside.

The color we used in the front parlor is Benjamin Moore Coventry Gray HC-169 in a Matte finish. It's just as beautiful a color in person as well.
Enjoy!
