TreHus worked from photographs of this home dating back to the early 1900's and with the Minneapolis Historic Preservation Commission to ensure that we honored the home's spirit and heritage throughout the project. After this staircase was restored, an artist was hired to antique the treads.

Flooring color and type - The floors are lovely, could you please tell me what manufacturer, color and wood type you used? »
TreHus Architects+Interior Designers+Builders rchesler, since this was a historic renovation, not everything was new - in this room, most of the transformation was achieved through stripping and repainting. The home had been used as a rental property for some time before the renovation, so interior decorating choices were a little on the utilitarian side (see attached image). We just stripped and refinished the existing floors (maple, I believe). I believe they are a custom -blended stain since the challenge was to match the dark-stained maple to the dark-stained wide-plank pine that we installed in the kitchen area, which was an addition. I wish I had a more simple answer, but this was a complicated and very custom project.
