Rough Linen This is clapboard, not beadboard, but with any of these claddings the best way is to install them board by board, not in the cheaper pressed or routed sheets, and stagger the joints.

Shelley That is what I was thinking, to scatter the joints. I couldn't see any of the joints so, I thought maybe there was a trick to it I didn't know about.

Rough Linen Yes I did, originally more elaborate, but when I exposed the clapboard I cut back. all local driftwood, and there is a lot more!

While beadboard walls ain't exactly new and groundbreaking, but installing 4x8 sheets horizontally is a bit more unexpected. To do this in your own home, keep in mind you'll need a strip of vertical trim between each 4x8 sheet for it to look right.
