Minimum House contemporary

Minimum House

In 1947 Life Magazine published a design for a Minimum House designed by Pietro Belluschi that was 25 feet square and meant for young couples starting families after WWII. The plan was the minimum house necessary and more space could be added later. Those children are now part of the Baby Boomer population and are entering retirement. This updated design is meant for those retired singles or couples who are looking for a small, efficient plan that will be easy to maintain. Life Magazine said of the earlier plan: "the Minimum House provides a maximum of pleasant living." We think this design does also.
