I had given my son a set of gargoyle bookends as a gift a few years ago. He had them stolen recently, so I wanted to replace them. These looked exactly like the originals in the photo online, but when they arrived, they weren't. Still, they were close enough. He and I both really like the look and idea of these.

In medieval times, ancient architects and stone carvers used gargoyles on buildings as a way to ward off evil spirits and bad luck. Made of concrete, this bookish pair of reading gargoyle bookends not only looks great, but they do a good job holding books up too. Measuring 8 1/2 inches tall, 5 inches deep, and 5 1/4 inches wide, they have their noses shoved deep into books, yet stay ever vigilant. This pair also makes a great present for the holidays or for housewarming gifts. They look great on bookshelves and on top of desks or tables
