May I get a high-res of this image for newspaper? - I am writing an article on vintage decor for the Wisconsin State Journal (Madison, WI). Could you email me a high-resolution (200 DPI, print size or larger) image of this Queen Anne living room, along with any comments on the design elements you would like me to include? Thank you -- Teresa Peneguy, tpaprock@madison.com, 608-250-4166 »
Imported from europe or bought locally? - I've seen similar products imported from europe for more than most people buy their cars for... where did you find this ornate stuff? »
3. Traditional floral patterns. Floral patterns were brought by the boatload (literally) by the Emperor to his palace in Mexico City. Damasks and flowers in golds and pastels adorned numerous rooms in the renovated palace. These classic patterns were integrated into many high-end homes in Mexico through the end of the 19th century.
This Victorian styled room is very busy, the couch is the main focus point in this picture and it is very heavy looking. The wood in this picture is also really light
This furniture arrangement falls under the Queen Anne style because of the spoon back on the couch and he curved shaped of the furniture. Also because of the cabriole/claw and ball foot of the couch.
I am a huge fan of the Victorian style and I think this really captures it all. It definitely looks like one of the room Rose stayed in on the Titanic. The over ussage of fabrics and rose patterns overwhelm in a good way.
