What kind of window coverings/blinds would look good here? This is almost our design but we need blinds of some sort! just basic white horizontal blinds or...? »
Mona Ives I like a cotton/linen print in a custom roman shade. You can have the workroom make these top down if you like. Alternatively you could do a white woven wood blind (top down) with an inside-mounted, box pleated valance at the top of the window. Use a natural white/green/offwhite pattern perhaps something with leaves or vines? I find the bathroom just a little too "clean" so I would want a pattern and some fabric to warm it up.
I like Hunter Douglas but the environment is really just so bright and clean you need to add some warmth.
Simone Sidwell I am glad I discovered this site! I should say that the windows in the photo are NOT mine (the photo inspired me, it is NOT my current space). Our windows are just plain rectangular/vinyl with traditional molding around it. Roman shades are another excellent idea
Becky Harris The key to what makes this cabinet so smashing is that it is recessed - built into the wall. Pottery barn has a similar one called "Hotel Recessed Medicine Cabinet", but the mirror is a little less square than the one in this room.
Bathrooms are often cramped spaces without much natural light, but they don't have to be. I love the way this freestanding tub is positioned between the windows. The light plays off the white tile, making the room exponentially brighter. A bath in this tub would be both relaxing and energizing all at once.
Craftsman style medicine cabinets, a free standing tub, black and white hexagon tile and wainscoting all are classic choices which will stand the test of time. What is modern here? The addition of a second pedestal sink.
Bathroom - i like the white trim around the windows, wainscoting, and paint color together. Not thrilled with the flooring, however. Freestanding tub is not really my style.
