Oakland Hills Arts & Crafts Home

The clients for this project wanted a house inspired by the English Arts and Crafts tradition. The downslope site is steep, typical of many in the Oakland hills, allowing for a spacious home with a cottage-like appearance from the street. The interiors serve as a setting for the clients' extensive collection of modern and ethnic art as well as arts and crafts furnishings. Interior detailing is austere, spare on wood trim, and provides light, unbroken planes for the display of art objects while maintaining the integrity of the Arts and Crafts style.

Interesting. Two small rugs instead of one big.
