The first residential project undertaken as Dungan Nequette in 1999 was this house with amazing views atop Springville Mountain. The owner is a talented builder who wanted to try and achieve the look of ancient cottages from old paintings. It helped that he was not afraid of the difficult details it took to create such a unique look.

The masonry, window work, thatched roof, stone wall, all beautiful. Though I am a fan of sharper angles than the ones here.

Softly curving roof, Eyebrow Dormer's, curved window tops, mix of rock with other building materials...all give this a natural feeling. So if you don't want a true hobbit's home, but still want to like in a fantasy house....wa la!

Love the low rock wall
