Roof - Hi,
We loved he house! We are buying a flat roof house that we would like renovate to something similar. I'd like to know how the roof was done. Is it concrete as well? Where are the gutters? We would like to conceal the exposed wooden (roof) beams like this house. Kindly assist? Thanks »
Allen Associates Thank you for your interest in our project. The roof was finished with flat tar & gravel (which is hidden behind the fascia). The roof is pitched to the rear and drains into a gutter. The roof rafters are concealed within the tall fascia.
Allen Associates Thank you. The garage was originally a carport and the entry was not well defined, cramped and hidden from the street. The carport was enclosed and a formal entry created as a part of the remodel. The client loves it!
Now that you've seen a few examples, let's consider the advantages and disadvantages of concrete.Advantages1. Maintenance and longevity. Cracks usually don't occur for quite a long time, and potholes are nearly nonexistent. Concrete also lasts longer than any other driveway material. The most pesky task you'll encounter is stain removal, which we will touch on later.
