1950's Ranch House

This renovation transforms a tired white clapboard house into a richly textured assemblage of spaces and volumes. The project had the added challenge of requiring all portions of the house be made accessible to one of the owners who is confined to a wheelchair while not compromising their aesthetic goals.

Implemented over two phases of construction, the first portion of work focused on creating a new kitchen and bathrooms as well as inserting an elevator into the house. A second phase replaced a breezeway with a new family room addition that connects the garage to the main portion of the hosue and opens to a new brick terrace.
The pallete of interior finishes expresses the owner's desire for light-filled modern detailing without being harsh or cold. The use of natural materials, textures, and patterns complements the owner's collection of Asian furnishings.
