window treatment - Hi. I love the LR and kitchen, but my Q is re the treatment above the banquette and in the kitchen. What kind of a pleat did you use for the valance and what kind of shade is under it -- flat roman, or is it a simple roller shade with fabric? Are there cords? Also, is there just a top treatment in the kitchen or both shade and valance like in this room? Thanks so much! »
Kim E Courtney Interiors & Design Inc It is what I call a "water fall " pleat and the shade is a roller. The large window over the sink has only the vlance . It was far too pretty to cover and it faaces the rear of the home so privacy was not an issue.
where or how can i get a piece of furniture (L shaped couch) for dining to fit a similar space - Is the couch custom made? I have a dining area that is this size with windows that I am trying to furnish with booths... or something similar? thank you »
This light-drenched breakfast nook would make an early riser out of anyone. The tufted banquette's gray upholstery gives off an elegant silver sheen; the glass top antique table, country shade chandelier, and menu du jour on the chalkboard are nods to European country chic."I live in a slice of heaven," says Hendrickson-Radovich. "There is always a breeze coming off the bay. I can hear ducks and geese calling to each other along with the boats pulling into the harbor in the morning."Banquette: custom, Kim E.
