Do you have an another picture showing the wedge island - if possible, can you share another photo angle of the wedge island. it looks rectangular from this picture and the other 2 pictures cuts the island from full view. A wedge island is what makes sense for my kitchen and was not sold on the idea, until i saw this picture. Can you share some additional pictures of the wedge island with curved seating? Thank you. »
Design Moe Kitchen & Bath / Heather Moe designer Sorry it’s taken us so long to answer your questions about the cabinet color. These cabinets were custom designed and built by a high-end cabinet company in Pennsylvania, so these colors are their proprietary finishes. In this case we used a maple cabinet, with a warm white paint/brown glaze (mostly removed --i.e. with very little hang-up on the faces) for the perimeter, and we used an alder cabinet, walnut-colored stain/black glaze finish for the island cabinets.
Design Moe Kitchen & Bath / Heather Moe designer HI Krit35, I assume you are asking about the copper sink under the window. My client and I chose a farmhouse sink from Masterpiece Sinks (www.masterpiecesinks.com). We liked Masterpiece's permanent aged-copper finish. (Most copper sinks are "living," which means that the copper constantly changes as it ages, but the finish on Masterpiece Sinks is guaranteed not to change for 10 years.) We also liked their many, beautiful choices of interesting apron designs, and their quite reasonable pricing. Having said all that, however, we were not happy with Masterpiece's only so-so quality (the top of this sink was so dented and uneven that we weren't sure we would be able to successfully mount it under the granite), and we ended up installing a sink with the wrong apron design because that's what they shipped us, and after waiting 6 weeks, we didn't want to hold up the job waiting for new one. (So we still do keep Masterpiece on our Vendor list, but we warn our clients about the possible pitfalls.)
Design Moe Kitchen & Bath / Heather Moe designer I'm sorry we've taken so long answering your question, and unfortunately we're not going to be able to share the floor plan for this home with you at this time. We can tell you, however, that this kitchen included a large central space (about 25 x 25) with 6 entrances, most of which you can see in the photo above: the "main" kitchen entrance from the central hallway is on the back right. Moving left, the next opening is through the butler's pantry to the dining room , then there is an opening to the nook that you can't see, then the large arched opening to the family room (shown above), then on the back right there is an opening to the back hall (to the garage), and finally an arched opening to the pantry. Because of all these traffic routes, we concentrated the kitchen activity on the two large central islands and put the main focal point wall with the cook top and hood directly across from the family room.
