Design Moe Kitchen & Bath / Heather Moe designer The main kitchen sink is from Masterpiece Sinks. They have quite a few choices in apron designs, and they also have a choice of finishes, from Nickel Silver to Penny Copper to Bright Copper. I also like the fact that their finishes are not the live patinas that other companies do, but instead are 10-year guaranteed finishes.
daringdesigner You should check out www.signaturehardware.com, They have a great selection of apron sinks and they are very reasonably priced. Customer service is very helpful.
Design Moe Kitchen & Bath / Heather Moe designer In answer to your questions about Waterstone faucets and Waterstone's antique pewter finishes, the faucet in this photo is an example of Waterstone's antique pewter finish. What's nice about antique finishes in traditional spaces is that they mix well, I think, with other antique finishes--so you can have, for example, antique bronze, copper, and pewter in one room: the antiquing sort of blends them all together. (I'm not as keen on the "distressed" antique finishes from Waterstone, as the distressing consists of small dents and spots that look, well, distressed.)
katstan Thanks for the response. Sorry to hear you have had troubles. We ordered ours from coppersinksonline, and although we have not yet installed it, it seems really beautifully made. 14 gauge and hammered all over, it weighs a small ton, I suppose that is a good thing.
Design Moe Kitchen & Bath / Heather Moe designer Hi Katstan, thanks for your comment. Maybe they've tightened up their production procedures and have taken care of the issues we ran into. I would like to keep specifying their sinks because they are truly beautiful, and I love all the great apron patterns they offer. I'm sure your sink will work out great for you. Enjoy!
Design Moe Kitchen & Bath / Heather Moe designer Sorry it has taken me so long to answer your question. As I mentioned in previous posts about this kitchen and others (and as Brittany correctly mentioned above), the sink is by Masterpiece Sinks. We used Masterpiece because instead of a "live" (ie, changing) surface on their metal patina sinks, they have a "lifetime" finish that is guaranteed not to change for 10 years. Our experience with them so far has been up and down: up because the finishes generally seem to last, down because the quality of the construction seems somewhat mediocre (top edges of sinks has been dented and uneven at receipt) and the quality of the construction process has been spotty (we have twice received the wrong apron design after waiting 4 weeks for manufacture). In addition we have had one finish failure, in which the metal surface coating of the inside of the sink wore off around the drain. In that case Masterpiece replaced the sink promptly, but the "remove & replace" installation work was a considerable headache, and it cost me $400-$500 for labor.
Design Moe Kitchen & Bath / Heather Moe designer Sorry it's taken so long to answer your question about the countertops. This is not granite; it's Emporador Dark Marble, Polished, with a 2.25" double ogee edge detail. It looks beautiful, it's true, but as I've mentioned in other replies on this subject, please talk to your stone fabricators about the challenges of marble countertops before deciding on a stone such as this one.
pretorius81 I work with granite and marble, this doesn't look like Emperador Dark Marble at all, I don't see the veins or white crystal patches.... This looks grainy just like granite would but I cant tell the color. One thing is for sure, one should think twice before deciding on having marble in the kitchen.
Design Moe Kitchen & Bath / Heather Moe designer I'm so glad that you have found it. The style in the photo above is called Annapolis; it's one of the company's 3 traditional designs.
Design Moe Kitchen & Bath / Heather Moe designer Sorry it's taken so long to answer your question about the countertops. Neither surface in this kitchen is granite; the island is Jerusalem Limestone as Donna pointed out, and the cooking area that you are looking at in this photo is Emporador Dark Marble, Polished, with a 2.25" double ogee edge detail. They both look beautiful, it's true, but as I've mentioned in other replies on this subject, please talk to your stone fabricators about the challenges of marble countertops before deciding on surfaces such as these.
