Design Moe Kitchen & Bath / Heather Moe designer Hi Ladijax- This is Sonoma Tilemaker's Viatara glass, in the "Jade" colorway. If you look at Sonoma's website, you will see that there are 2 finishes for this line, a soft, honed finish and a glossy iridescent finish. We used the glossy finish in this kitchen. It’s also available in other sizes.
Annie Thornton -First you should decide what material you want for your kitchen counters. If you are going with a natural stone, that will immediately narrow your color options.
-The next step you should figure out is whether or not you want your counters to match your kitchen, or do you want your kitchen to match your kitchen counters. What are you replacing and what is worth more money?
-When thinking about color, think about the lighting in your kitchen. Is it naturally a dark space or naturally light? If it is dark, do you think the solid black counters would be the best idea?
-If the colors in your home are warmer colors, then a warmer colored counter would probably fit better than a cool colored counter.
-Think about the hues and undertones in the wood of your kitchen cabinets or wood flooring.
- Also remember that with natural stone, different samples of the same stone will be different colors. This is not a manufactured product, so there will be a variance in the specimens.
-Think about your lifestyle in the kitchen. Do you have time to constantly clean a color that shows stains and dirt easily?
-Like paint chips, bring samples of the colors and materials that you are interested in home. I am sure that instantly some colors will surge to the front.
And finally, remember that you should make this decision based on what makes you happy. This shouldn’t be all about resale value or the showpiece kitchen, but rather what color you would like to spend a lot of your time with. What makes you enjoy being in your kitchen?
