Hermes was the god of shepherds, merchants, literature, and thieves and invented the lyre, the pipes, the musical scale, astronomy, weights, measures, and the care of olive trees. He was also the messenger of the gods and conductor of souls to the underworld. This beautiful bronzed statue depicts Hermes stamping on the Earth, in winged sandals and helmet, holding his herald's staff. Made of cold cast resin, it measures 12 3/4 inches tall, 7 inches wide, 4 1/2 inches deep. Subtle hints of color emphasize the detail of this piece, from the intricate armor to the texture of the wings. The base is lined with felt to protect delicate surfaces, so you can display it anywhere in your home or office. This statue makes a great gift for mythology buffs, and is sure to be admired. NOTE: The staff is packaged separately from the statue inside the styrofoam.
