I love the brick column and the pretty stairway. There is a lot of character in this room. If you're set on having a neutral color scheme, this is an example of how to do it right.
come down the stairs, and everything/elements are behind the stairs, rather than right in front/at bottom of stairs. replace this living room space w/ kitchen?
