Venegas and Company The tile was sourced by the interior designer and unfortunately we do not know the exact manufacturer and finish. What I can tell you - this is a very simple subway tile. The detail is in the glaze and it has a delicate crackle effect. You can certainly visit your local tile showroom and they can help you select a simple tile. We often source our tile from Tile Showcase in the Boston Design Center.
Upper glass cabinetry is real cool! What's the approximate cost on just the upper glass cabinets? - We're thinking about keeping our existing main cabinets and doing the smaller glass cabinetry above them. We currently have a soffit above our cabinets and it looks a bit dated. Thank you! »
Venegas and Company Thank you for your inquiry - and we think this is a great idea to "freshen up" your kitchen. Unfortunately this is not a cost I can estimate for you. Each wall cabinet was made as one piece. We suggest working with your local cabinet maker and they should be able to get you an accurate quote to do the replacement for you.
Hi - Love your kitchen. What brand of hood did you use under the cabinetry? - If you could share the details, of the hood, we'd sure appreciate it. We're just doing something in Seattle, WA and wanted to have the hood be functional but blend into the cabinetry as you did here. Any brand in particular that worked well in this kitchen? Thanks, Liz Talley »
Venegas and Company We custom designed the mantle hood, so that it would match. I suggest that you have your cabinet maker build it - Best makes a good vent insert.
Can we do two upper wall cabinets like yours if we have an 8' ceiling instead of a 9' ceiling? - We love this kitchen and would like to use it as an inspiration for our own kitchen remodel. However, we have 8 foot ceilings instead of 9 foot ceilings. Could we still have two upper cabinets similar to the ones here? If so, what would you recommend for the height of the base cabinets and the wall cabinets? Thank you. »
Venegas and Company Thank you for your inquiry! 8 foot ceilings are a bit tough to accomplish this exact look, however you could do one upper cabinet door 39" high and have the door be two panels high. The top panel of the door would be glass.
Here's a link to one of our showroom displays which shows a door two panels high. The proportions are not the same, but you can see what I mean. Good luck with your project!
(Standard base cabinets are 34-1/2" high, 1-1/4" high countertop, 18-1/4" high backsplash, 39" high wall cabinet and 3" left over for your ceiling solution).
Venegas and Company Thank you for your inquiry! Unfortunately we do not have any further information regarding the pine floor planks - they were sourced by the interior designer. Sorry we could not be more helpful.
When using a cream or off white color like this on the cabinets what color should the ceiling be?
The white here on the ceiling just doesn't look right next to the cabinets. »
Venegas and Company Thank you Kelly, and yes it is certainly a personal preference and every client is different. You could always pick a color for your cabinets and then add a percentage of white to lighten it a bit! Good luck with your project!
Anne DeCocco I think these cabinets are white. But when I looked at the other questions that have been asked about this kitchen, I saw that someone mentioned how much whiter the ceiling looks. Such a good point! So these cabinets must be off-white. If you click on "more info" under the photo, and hover over the cabinets, a lovely green tag gives you some source information. No color, but at least you know who to contact!
Venegas and Company These cabinets are "Antique White" made by Premier Custom Built. The treatment of the paint is a milk paint; it has a heavy brush stroke.

Love the look of these upper cabinets. It would work great for shelves...just take off the door. LOVE the idea of painting the inside of them a different color, but not sure that will look right in the living room.
