A vintage cottage on a tiny lot with a tight program of outdoor entertaining space, low maintenance planting and a useable driveway for a frequently out-of-town client. The front lawn was removed to create lounge area with a new outdoor fireplace and stone patio seating area surrounded by low water use plantings. The driveway was replaced with concrete pavers and gravel to allow rainwater to infiltrate on site and create a more inviting outdoor dining area. Decorative metal panels and vine trellis panels enliven the adjacent wood fence.

claralyn I believe they are called Kangaroo Paws. need little water and come in a few different colors yellow,orange and red.

A compact space between the kitchen door and the perimeter wall, this side yard has a playful floor treatment that turns it into something quite special.The "carpet" of different square and rectangular pavers is laid on a bed of contrasting crushed rock.
