Black Tusk Development Group Ltd. Hello. The counter top is concrete, poured in place, and finished with beeswax (non toxic). One of our carpenters formed the countertop and then poured in the concrete. The wood facing is reclaimed barn board, and the pebble wall detail is just that, pebbles on a 12" x 12" sheet. Hope that helps. BTDG
Urbana ~ Designer Ellen Crystal print out this photo and take to your local tile showroom. Then explain your difficulty with the excessive visible grout. The tile supplier should have a similar pebble texture, with close grout lines. Then make sure an experienced tile setter does the work. This is not a job for an amateur as it tricky to get the balance of sealing & yet expose the pebbles to their full potential
Black Tusk Development Group Ltd. Hi MT. The client purchased the pebble tiles from a discount supply house, so the manufacturer of the pebbles in the image is unknown. There are a number of suppliers out there, we are looking at using ErthCOVERINGS for a new project. We don't grout this type of installation, we prefer the cleaner look of just the pebbles. Because there is not grout the tile is installed with thinset which has been colored slighty to match the pebbles. Also look for pebbles that are tightly fitted together on the sheets so you can't see between the pebbles. Good luck.
Black Tusk Development Group Ltd. Hi emily11, the floor tile was from a tile clearing house in Toronto (2007) and we took their remaining stock. It was a natural marble, unfortunately I don't know from where. It was simply marked "beige marble" and at a great price. Client picked it out and loves the look and feel. Sorry I can't be of more help.
