The kitchen is simply lit with small recessed cans, as well as three pendants above the island for decoration and task lighting.

lindahaden - Could you share info about the transom window? The size, height of ceiling and height of wall cabinets? Thanks, thinking about this for my new house. »
Synergy Design & Construction Hi and thanks for the question! The transom window in this project was existing, but here are the approximate dimensions:
-107" wide x 28" high, about 13" deep (due to wall thickness)
-Approx 82" from bottom to floor (9'-2" ceiling height)
-The upper cabinets are 30" tall and 51" from the floor (as opposed to the typical 54")
Synergy Design & Construction We apologize for the delay in response as we were just notified of your question. The flooring is engineered hardwood in Mt. Mckinley Oak.

Natural light and privacy achieved on a wall where normally you would have to trade cabinet space for a window. Sometimes you can have your cake and eat it too.
