The clients of this DC rowhome opted for ceramic floor tile that resembles hardwood. Radiant heating underneath keeps the room warm from the floor up in the winter.

Sorry, it's the floor tile Woodland Ulivo, about to be installed. Grout color used? Thanks again :) »
Synergy Design & Construction No problem! The Woodlands floor tile is very beautiful and hardy. We have recently installed it in a restaurant. The grout we used for this kitchen was Tec AccuColor in the color Light Chocolate #944. We specified 1/8" grout lines to ensure the tiles were close together, making it look more like wood.
Synergy Design & Construction Hi and thanks for the question! We've heard nothing but good things from this client (and visitors!) about the kitchen selections. For the backsplash tile, we used Tec AccuColor grout in the color Antique White, #940. Applying the grout smoothly is key because this tile is translucent.
Synergy Design & Construction Thanks for the question! The under cabinet lighting shown here consists of Xenon Low Voltage Triangle Light pucks such as these from Pegasus Lighting: http://www.pegasuslighting.com/xenon-triangle-lights.html
Synergy Design & Construction Hi, thanks for your question. We’re glad you like it! The backsplash is a combination of two different glass tiles from Maniscalco (Australian). The decorative stripe at the base is the Simpson blend polished and the main tile is the Waterfall pattern polished in the color Zulu. The Waterfall pattern comes in several other color options. You can purchase it through any Mosaic Tile Company showroom. http://www.mosaictileco.com/ - Natalie
Synergy Design & Construction Hi,
Thanks, we love it too! We found this at Mosaic Tile Company in Chantilly, VA. You can purchase it from any of their showrooms. Here’s the item number, ID #22822, sku# 69WOOULI624. The color is Ulivo.
Synergy Design & Construction Hi and thanks for the question! The tile is by Capri from the Woodlands collection. The color we used was called "Ulivo."
Synergy Design & Construction Hi and thanks for the question. This isn't wood at all...it's ceramic tile that mimics wood. More durable and easier to clean (it's also heated).
How do the appliance storage cabinets below the glass doors open? I am trying to find a way to hide the appliances from sight without having the roll-up doors. »
Bud Dietrich, AIA Though these seem to be hinged at the side you can hing them like a garage door. Blum makes hardware for this application and any cabinetry shop should be able to show you.
Synergy Design & Construction Hi, Thanks for the question. The storage below the glass display cabinetry is actually a dry bar for entertaining; however it would work nicely as an appliance garage. The doors hinge from the side and then slide on a track back into the cabinet almost like a pocket door. This is very common hardware that most cabinetry lines should offer.
Synergy Design & Construction It’s made by Artistic Tile from Australia. The pattern is called Waterfall. You can purchase it from Mosaic Tile Company.
